History of polarized light
Life giving light – Light therapy
The solar spectrum from the shortest wavelength ultraviolet light through the visible spectrum up to the longest infrared wavelengths, contains all kinds of wavelengths, to which various differing biological effects have been attributed.
The beneficial effects of light have been known for a long time: so-called heliotherapy, or treatment with direct sunlight, was known by the ancient Egyptians; the effect of various wavelengths of light on the health and body came to Europe through the Greeks.
The true breakthrough happened in Europe at the end of the 19th century, when sunlight therapy was used on skin tuberculosis. The doctor, Niels Ryberg Finsen, received a Nobel prize in 1903 as a result of his successes. Following this, scientific research proved the positive effect of various wavelengths on metabolism, nerves and the immune system on numerous occasions. Recently, polarized light has brought a new breakthrough, which achieves its effect through a wide spectrum with low intensity.
The low energy density polarized light encompasses the visible spectrum and a portion of the near-infrared range, but does not contain UV radiation.
When exposed to the human body, thanks to its approx. 1 cm penetration depth, it reaches capillary blood vessels, strengthening the membranes of red blood cells and increasing their capacity to absorb oxygen, and it has a positive effect on the metabolic processes of white blood cells as well.
By increasing the oxygen uptake of red blood cells, more vital oxygen reaches every cell, organ, and body system, all of which makes it possible for muscles, and the more important organs, to develop and function effectively.
Numerous professional studies have shown that polarized light therapy is able to active the body’s own self-healing potential in a natural and unique way, as a result of which the whole immune system gradually builds up. Thanks to this today it is a generally accepted curative and preventative therapy.
* The positive effects of polarized light on the human body are supported by scientific literature.
